Iconic British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood's influence on international fashion is legendary, famed for introducing contemporary punk and nu-wave fashion trends into the mainstream.

Born is a sleepy town in the East Midlands, the bright lights of London were too strong for her to resist and she soon relocated to the city where she enrolled in fashion college.

Although she left before completing her course, Westwood created and then sold her own costume jewellery at weekends to help fund her lifestyle, and it was this initial success that spurred her onto launching her own fashion label.
