Ray-Ban

In 1937, Bausch & Lomb developed anti-glare Aviator sunglasses under the brand name Ray-Ban. They, as the name suggests, were originally designed for pilots, following a request from the United States Army Air Corps to create elegant looking sunglasses with UV protection (fashionable and practical).

The much loved Aviator first became a popular style of sunglasses when several photographs were taken of General Douglas MacArthur wearing them when he returned to the Philippines during World War II. The sunglasses have now become a timeless classic alongside the Ray-Ban Wayfarer and Ray-Ban Clubmaster.

Moving with the times Ray-Ban, has and still maintains, its position as market leader for high-end, high fashion sunglasses. This iconic brand has grown globally to become the best selling of all the high end sunglasses brands.
